Sweet Summer Rain Makes Fishing in Orange Beach Cool
The sweet summer rain has been falling all week in Orange Beach, Alabama. That has not kept us from deep sea fishing at all. The Distraction Charters fishing team has enjoyed the much needed cooler temperatures and has taken advantage of the cool 86 degree water temp and the outside temps of the same. Cloud cover over our fishing reefs has made some of the fish bite even better. We have switched to a darker colored baits while trolling because it makes the baits seem more natural in color. When the sun pops out, we switch back to brighter colors. The Red Snapper fish have been biting pretty good all week, but we are releasing most of them because they are out of season. The shark bite has been ok, but the King Mackerels have moved out to deeper water in search of food. We have had a great week and look forward to our busiest week of the year coming up beginning tomorrow. The last week in July always seems to be everyones last effort to get their summer vacation in before school starts in three weeks. So far, we have had a great year and are looking forward to a busy fall fishing season. The groupers are biting and the Amberjacks will be fun to catch on those full day charters coming up in August.
