Six hours is a complete offshore fishing trip. It gives us time to travel, troll when seasonal conditions allow, reef fish, move between locations, and make adjustments as the day develops.
It is also a manageable time commitment for most younger anglers, first-time families, parents, grandparents, and mixed-experience groups.
The 6-hour trip is not simply the cheaper version of a longer trip. It is built for a different customer and a different time commitment.
Children do not need to arrive knowing how to fish. Learning is part of the experience.
Some children are excited immediately. Some are quiet at first. Some want to observe before they try.
We do not rush that process.

Very young children can sometimes enjoy the boat, but parents should understand that the crew must operate the vessel and fishing deck while also helping the family fish.

We help with bait, tackle, rods, fish handling, and coaching. We explain what to do before expecting a child or adult to do it.
Some children become comfortable very quickly. Others take longer and may prefer to watch before joining the fishing.
No one needs to feel embarrassed for asking questions. Parents do not need to arrive knowing everything either.
Fishing offshore is exciting, but children sometimes need a break or reset.
Distraction has an air-conditioned cabin, a clean private restroom, seating, and room for guests to cool off or rest between fishing opportunities.
Those details can make a meaningful difference when children, parents, and grandparents spend several hours offshore together.

Captain Troy makes the final weather decision based on safety, wind, waves, thunderstorms, offshore conditions, and passenger comfort.
A rain chance alone does not necessarily cancel a trip. Sea conditions and storm development matter much more, especially when children are aboard.
We would rather make a responsible decision than force a trip that should not happen.

Children can become seasick just like adults. A child who feels fine in a car or on a short boat ride may still react differently offshore.
If your child gets carsick easily, experiences migraines, or has never been offshore, consider speaking with a physician or pharmacist before the trip.
Motion-sickness remedies usually work better when taken before symptoms begin.
A good night’s sleep, light food, hydration, and avoiding excessive sugar or heavy meals before departure may help some children feel better.
If your family requests an early return because of seasickness, fatigue, anxiety, discomfort, or a change of mind after departure, the full trip rate and stated deckhand amount still apply.
We provide fishing licenses, bait, tackle, rods, reels, coaching, and fish cleaning.
Parents should bring personal items that help children remain comfortable.
Beer in cans is allowed for adults. Please do not bring glass containers or hard liquor.
Leave a clean cooler with plenty of ice in your vehicle so bagged fish can stay well iced and cold after the trip.
