Trolling-for-King-Mackerel-and-Spanish-Mackerel-is-red-hot-during-August-in-Gulf-Shores

Trolling for King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel has been red hot during the first week of August. About the first of August, these migratory fish showed up and began biting like crazy just south of the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama shoreline. We assume it is because the bait finally showed up and gave them something to feed upon. Blood minnow schools are everywhere and it is not uncommon to now see schools of Spanish devouring them by the mouthful. We were catching a lot of them during the months of June and July, but they were deeper in the water column. They were cutting us off while bottom fishing. Now we are not getting cut off as much because most of the Mackerel are up closer to the shorline feeding. We still have to go offshore a good ways to get the larger Kings that weigh anywhere from 8 to 18 lbs. All we know is the Mackerel fishing is going to be red hot through the late summer and fall months. Come deep sea fishing with us and let us show you how we catch them on light tackle.
