Thanksgiving Fishing Charter – Redfishing on the Alabama Gulf Coast
Redfish fishing is in full swing on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Today’s Bull Redfish adventure was one to remember. Everyone is anticipating all of the Thanksgiving trimmings tomorrow, but we were out here on the Gulf of Mexico, just south of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama fishing for Bull Reds. The morning started off at 8 am and we headed to the east in hopes of getting a quick pick of Redfish and get some immediate action. The waves were from the Southeast and there was not much too them. I did not see any bait or birds, so I headed to the west, toward Gulf Shores. It did not take long to see a couple of boats on the horizon, down near the State Pier. They were silent and did not want anyone to know that I knew what they were doing. I fish these waters on a daily basis and when I got close, my phone rang. It was my long time fishing Buddy, Johnny Greene on the Intimidator asking how it was going. I said we found them. Just about the time I hung up with Johnny, the reels started screaming and so were our customers. Fishing near the beach in a comfortable boat makes a big difference. We simply have room to fish on our back deck. Anway, we ended up catching 5 Bull Reds and our clients only wanted three of them to put on the smoker. Overall, cool temperatures sure do make for some good Bull Redfish fishing.
