The last week of the 2011 federal Red Snapper season is producing some whopper fish. Distraction Charters in Orange Beach has been bringing home the big ones and we are doing it with light tackle. Our largest fish weighed 30.18 pounds and we have brought in 5 Red Snappers that were in the 24 to 27 lb range this week. There is nothing more entertaining than to watch a kid hook into one of these monster sized snappers and watch them moan, grunt, strain and wind away on the reel. Fishing with families is extremely entertaining in Orange Beach. We get to experience children fishing with their parents and grandparents and see the smiles on everyones faces. There is no serious fishing or over harvesting going on this Orange Beach charter boat. We encourage our guests to take what they need, not what they can.
