Being a charter boat owner and operator in Orange Beach, Alabama has so many challenges and rewards and is much like any other small business on the Gulf Shores of Alabama. With us, most of our business comes when tourists flock to the beautiful beaches and get ready for their deep sea fishing charter. The King Mackerel showed up early this year and most of us are thinking that it was because we had a mild winter and the fish’s migration pattern may have been off a little. We have caught some cobia while bottom fishing and these game fish have provided some good action for families with kids. Those fish really know how to jump and fight like crazy. The morning trolling fishing trips have been good, but we have found most of the fish being located a little further offshore, in deeper water. We are having a lot of kids joining parents and grandparents now and everyone is loving how much fun the Distraction Charter Boat makes fishing. Remember, we are family fishing specialists and are members of the OBFC “Orange Beach Fishing Cooperative.”
