Alabama-Summer-Vacation-Fishing-with-Orange-Beach_Charters
This past week has been amazing. We have been running every day and the fish are biting. We have been catching some really big Red Snappers, with our largest being 29.48 pounds. Orange Beach fishing charters has been catching Cobia, Mangrove Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel and the Red Snappers. The light tackle we are using has been performing well thus far. We have had a strong westerly current of about 2 knots that has blown some muddy water over toward Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The high pressure system is sitting out over the gulf and the clockwise rotation of the wind is causing a southwest and a westerly wind all week. A little further south of the Alabama Gulf Coast, the water is better some days than others. It is green one day and chalky the other. This water coloration change has forced the King Mackerel further offshore to feed. Most all of the Kings we are catching are deep in the water. We are not seeing the Kings like we did in past years up near the shore line. That is making for some tough 4 hour trolling charters. The fish are simply not there. That is why we urge people to book the 6 hour bottom fishing and trolling charter. We can almost guarantee a good catch if you take the 6 hour deep sea fishing trip. We would hate to take you on a 4 hour trolling trip when the fish are simply not biting well. Whenever the westerly winds stop blowing and we get a southeast push of emerald green water, I believe the King Mackerel bite will get better close to shore. Right now, we are running two 6 hour trips a day. We are departing at 06:30 and at 1:30 pm. These trips are ideal for those who are early risers and for those who have older teenagers that want to sleep in. We look forward to seeing you on the water this summer.
