Reservations Request for Fishing In Orange Beach
Attention: If you submit a reservation request and do not hear back from us within a day, please check your spam box on your email to see if the reply went there. There have been some occasions where people did not get a reply from us and that was the problem. All of our email comes from distractioncharters at gmail dot com.
Reservation Submission Online does not lock you into or commit you to a trip or date. It lets us see what type of fishing charter and length of charter you want so we can better serve you. We will be in touch with you no later than the same evening you send your request.
Reservations, Booking Policy and Disclosure:
Deposit -
We do not require a deposit like other sportfishing charters in Orange Beach do! We take a credit card number to hold your spot. You get to keep your money in your pocket until the day of the trip. You are expected to pay the entire fare the morning of the charter. We take Cash, Traveler's Checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. No personal checks accepted.
Payment -
When you arrive for your charter, payment in full is expected prior to departure. If paying with a credit card, please have the card with you and Identification. We are able to take payments on the charter boat.
Gratuity -
The deckhand or mate on the charter boat works very hard before, during and after you fish with us. It is customary to bring cash and tip him after he cleans your fish and or your charter is complete. Just like in a fine restaurant, we urge you to figure on at least 20% gratuity minimum. He does clean your fish for free.
Cancellation-
We are going to show you some southern hospitality and give you one of the most unbelievable fishing cancellation policies you have ever heard of.
We only take a credit card number to hold your deposit. You get to keep your money in your pocket until the day of the trip. We only charge the card if you do not show up or give us advance (7days) notice of cancellation.; If you cancel your trip, you must hear back from me saying I got your message.
For those of you who don't call me at least a week (7 days) in advance during our busy season, I do reserve the right to charge you for the full amount. Al credit card companies honor reservations. When we are in the tourist season in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, we usually book up two to three weeks in advance. That means we can usually fill your spot and not charge you. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Sea Sickness -
You or someone in your group getting sea sick does not warrant us to cancel our trip. However, since you are on a private charter, you may at any time tell us to turn the boat around and head home. If sea conditions are safe and are deemed fishable, you will still be required to pay the full fare and tip for the charter. Regretfully, one in every 6 people gets sea sick while deep sea fishing. We don't want anyone to experience motion sickness, but it does happen. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy their charter. If you have allergies or inner ear issues, by all means, get a scopolomine patch prescription from your doctor and use appropriately so you and everyone else on your trip can have a good experience.
Disclosure:
Captain Troy Frady, Distraction Charters guide service and our parent company, Rock n Reel Charters, LLC, will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury to deep sea sport fishing participants, personal property or for any cancellations, expenses or delays incurred as a result of bad weather or rough seas or conditions over which we have no control. Captain Troy and the company, has the right to withdraw and or cancel any deep sea fishing trips offered at any time or make necessary changes to deep sea fishing trips as may be necessary for safety and proper handling of said deep sea fishing trips and charters.
All guests and anglers have a responsibility to disclose to the captain, any special medical or physical conditions prior to the trip that could make a difference if an emergency arises. We make no compromise to assure you a safe trip; however, deep sea fishing of this nature does not come "risk free". There are hooks, leads, live fish with sharp teeth and a rocking boat. Maintaining your safety is our priority.
Fuel Surcharge - All rates are subject to change without notice due to the rising cost of fuel. We do reserve the right to remove a fuel surcharge to the trip price if fuel falls below $3.50 usd per gallon. Currently, there is a $50 fuel surcharge on all trips.
Orange Beach Fishing Weather Policy:
We do not plan on taking you out in unsafe weather or any seas. Sometimes uncomfortable weather such as sea height and wind happen. Even though it is uncomfortable, it still may be safe to fish. We do not cancel trips until the morning of the trip. Yes, you must show up at the boat even if it's raining, windy or lightening as these storms usually pass quickly during the summer months. Be at the marina or you will be charged for the trip. We can speak via telephone if the weather and it's forecast is horrible?
Good Weather becomes Bad Weather Policy!
If we depart in Good or Safe Weather and the Weather becomes bad or unsafe to stay out fishing, we will stop the trip and start heading home. We will charge you $200 per hour only for the hours you are on the boat and not the whole trip. Captain Troy makes the determination as to what is safe. You determine if you want to continue onward. If a customer feels uncomfortable and wants to head in, they will be charged the full amount of the charter. We are fair but we are also responsible. The key is communication. My number is 251.975.8111. I suggest you keep it handy. It will help both of us. Thanks, Capt. Troy
